COACHING

BOUNCE CLUB

Bounce is for 5-8 year olds and will include fun games and exersises to devolop co-ordination, balance, speed and agility. Children will also be taught the basic techniques for the main shots - forehand, backhand, serve & volley. Basic tactical elements - such as directing the ball away from an opponent will be introduced through fun games.

Bounce Club uses what is known as the mini court - this is basically the service box or part of the service box depending on age and ability. This helps to encourage the children to control and direct the ball and also makes it possible for them to start to play rallys and games with each other and with the coach.. Smaller rackets and softer tennis balls are also used to aid this.

Bounce club takes place on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (see below for times). Children revieve 45 mins of group coaching during the weekday session and then an optional 45 min session takes place on Saturday morning for all of the Bounce Club children. This Saturday session will involve lots of fun games that will be used to re-inforce what was taught during the week.

DAYS & TIMES

All of our squads run for a 10 week block 3 times a year (Sept-Dec, Jan-April & April - June). There is normally a half term break during the 1st and 2nd terms. For the dates of the current or next term please take a look at the calendar.

Children in the Bounce Club get 2 x 45 min sessions per week - the 1st of these takes place during the week (see below for days & times) and then all of the children join together for a session on Saturday morning from 10.15 - 11.00am.

  • Thursday 3.00 - 3.45pm & 3.45 - 4.30pm
  • Friday 3.00 - 3.45pm & 3.45 - 4.30pm
  • Saturday 9.15 - 10.00am (Fun games)

COST

The costs below are for a 10 week session which will (if the calendar year allows for it) include a week for half term where there will be a free day of fun games for Bounce Club. RECOMMENDED RACKET

The best racket for children of this age is a 21" or 23" racket depending on age & height. If needed these can be borrowed for the 1st week or 2 and then can be bought at the Club. Click here for more details.
